Wonderland: Still Thinking of You
To celebrate 150 years since the publication of Alice in Wonderland.
My submission to the brief was titled Still Thinking of You as I used Adele Park's novel to cut out words and sentences, condensing the story down to form a poetic literary illustration.
The words combined became a short poem, sealed within layers of perspex and overlapping drawings. The viewer is encouraged to hold the piece and view it from all angles as the words and drawings distort and wrap, an idea based on the phrase 'two sides to every story.' The multiple dimensions of this work creates a 'wonderland' of imagery and words, an insight into the novel but taken out of context and reimagined and changed.
The work was on display in Bath's Central Library.
