2012-13: The Poetics of Objects
"I'm interested in the power of weakness and the beauty of the non-elegant" (PIPOLOTTI RIST)
Abstracted, metaphorical materials to mirror body parts; latex (skin), clay (flesh), puffbinder (a surreal depiction of the body's insides), and shells (bones). I am interested in the idea of the body being a container - using tissue paper or liquid latex to create forms to symbolise the anatomy, though, unlike the body, they hold nothing but their own structure.
